# Probed > Probed is a chat app for small communities and groups, like Discord and Slack but calmer: channels, threads, DMs, voice rooms with video and screen share, and events, plus an ideas board where members vote and a public roadmap. Free for up to 25 members; Premium is $19/month for up to 250 and Business $99/month for up to 2,500. Members never pay, and message history is kept on every plan. Probed runs on macOS, Windows, Linux and iPhone, and in the browser at https://app.probed.chat/. Paid plans add feedback forms, a custom roadmap domain, customer channels, integrations (GitHub, Linear, Slack, Discord and Teams sync), incoming channel webhooks, a REST API that reads and automates a space (members, invites, roles, channels, messages, customers and bulk customer import, ideas and roadmap, calendar events, soundboard, moderation) with signed webhooks, and a hosted MCP server any AI agent (Codex, Claude, Cursor and others) can use. Custom roles need Business. The walkable pixel-art Community map is an $8/seat add-on on Premium and Business. Fans never pay. - [Game communities](https://probed.chat/use-cases/games): Run your game's community on Probed: channels for patch notes and bug reports, voice rooms for playtests, and an ideas board where players vote on what you build next. - [Clubs and hobby groups](https://probed.chat/use-cases/clubs): Book clubs, running clubs, tabletop groups and makers: channels instead of one long thread, events people follow, and an ideas board for what to do next. Free up to 25 members. - [Conferences and events](https://probed.chat/use-cases/conferences): Run your event's community on Probed instead of a free Slack workspace. Attendees join with one link, nobody pays per seat, and the conversations never expire. - [Hackathons](https://probed.chat/use-cases/hackathons): Set up a hackathon space in minutes: a channel per team, voice rooms for mentors and one join link. One price per space, and the archive outlives the weekend. ## Comparisons - [Probed vs Discord](https://probed.chat/compare/discord) - [Probed vs Slack](https://probed.chat/compare/slack) - [Probed vs Gather](https://probed.chat/compare/gather) - [Probed vs Stoat](https://probed.chat/compare/stoat) - [Probed vs Circle](https://probed.chat/compare/circle) - [Probed vs Canny](https://probed.chat/compare/canny) ## Optional - [About](https://probed.chat/about) - [Privacy](https://probed.chat/privacy) - [Terms](https://probed.chat/terms) - [How we handle enforcement and bans](https://probed.chat/enforcement)
